Councils and shires
LED signs for councils and shires
Entry statements, community notice signs and portable message signs for WA councils and shires. We design and build them at our workshop in Welshpool, our own team installs them anywhere in WA and interstate, and your staff change the message from a phone, tablet or laptop.
Local government
Councils and services we build for
- cities, towns and shires, in Perth and the regions
- community, recreation and aquatic centres
- libraries and visitor centres
- works crews managing roadworks, road closures and events
- government offices
What councils show
- community events: “Australia Day breakfast at the foreshore 7am” or “Carols in the park Saturday 7pm”
- road closures and detours: “Main Street closed Sunday. Detour via Park Road”
- bulk verge collection: “Bulk verge collection starts Monday”
- fire season: “Restricted burning times now apply”
- council business: “Have your say on the draft budget” or “Council meeting Tuesday 6pm. Public welcome”
- facilities: “Pool open 6am to 7pm” or “Library closed Monday for the public holiday”
- a welcome for visitors at the town entry

Entry statements
Town and estate entry signs with a message you can change. A double-sided entry statement greets traffic coming from both directions.
Community notice signs
Fixed outdoor signs for town centres, libraries, halls and parks, on a pylon or a wall. A single colour sign shows notices and times in red, and a full colour sign adds event posters, photos and video.
Portable trailer signs
For roadworks, events and community notices, moved wherever they are needed. Solar trailer signs run without mains power, so a works crew can park one on a verge at the edge of town, and they also work as variable message signs (VMS) for roadworks. See VMS board hire and LED safety and speed signs.
Indoor screens and video walls
For customer service areas, libraries and foyers. See indoor LED displays and full colour LED screens and video walls.
Built for WA conditions
Our outdoor signs are made for sun, wind and rain. The FA2 range is sealed to IP68 against dust and heavy rain, up to 10,000 nits bright for direct sun, fanless, and runs without air conditioning up to 55 degrees.
Size and pixel pitch
A town entry is read from moving cars, so we choose the brightness, letter size and pixel pitch for how far away people are and how fast they are moving. A roadside sign read from a passing car suits a larger pitch, such as P10. Try your message on the pixel pitch planner.
Updating signs across your area
With an online editor, VNNOX or LED-Cloud depending on the sign, staff can update a connected sign from the office, and each sign can also run from a phone app or a computer program. Plan notices ahead and schedule them by time of day, and you never pay to reprint a sign again. We set up the software and show your staff how it works, and step by step guides are on Brochures and guides.
Approvals
Signs near main roads may need approval from Main Roads WA as well as your own planning process. Our help with applications is included at no extra cost, here and for councils outside WA. Read our council approval guide.
Projects
Council and government projects
- Shire of Wagin: a full colour, double-sided LED entry statement.
- Tasmanian Government office: two full colour LED video walls.
More are on our projects page. For message ideas, read digital signs for council events and notices.
Hire or buy
Hire or buy
Hire portable message signs for council notices, events and road closures, from half a day to months or years. We deliver anywhere in Australia, often on the same day in Perth, set the sign up and show your staff how to change it. We are the only hire company in Perth with double-sided LED signs.
For a permanent sign, buy outright or spread the cost with Ledge Finance. We can price hire and purchase side by side for your budget, and warranties run from 1 to 5 years, depending on the product.
Ovals, courts and recreation centres
For council ovals, courts and recreation centres, we also build LED scoreboards, portable or built in. Volunteers run them from a phone with Basic, the iCatcher Scoreboard app, or from a tablet with Advanced, Olympyx, which comes installed on the scoreboard. For carnivals, we hire out portable scoreboards across Perth and WA. See LED signs and scoreboards for sports grounds and electronic and LED scoreboards.
Talk to us about a sign for your community
