HD LED signs run on a player made by Huidu, and Huidu gives you three ways to update them: LedArt on your phone, LED-Cloud in a web browser and HDPlayer on a Windows PC. This guide covers LedArt and LED-Cloud, the two our customers use most. For the versions with pictures, download our LedArt app quick guide and LED-Cloud quick guide.
LedArt: update the sign from your phone
LedArt connects your phone straight to the sign’s own Wi-Fi, so you need to be near the sign. It works with full colour HD signs and with many single and two colour HD text signs. Huidu also has LedArt lite, a simpler app made for single and two colour signs.
What you need
- An iPhone (iOS 13 or later) or an Android phone (Android 7 or later).
- The LedArt app from the App Store or Google Play. Check the developer is Shenzhen Huidu Technology.
- Your sign’s Wi-Fi name and password. If your sign came from us, they are on your handover sheet.
On an iPhone, allow local network access when asked. On Android, allow location access, which the app needs to find the sign.
Change the message
- Join the sign’s Wi-Fi.
- Open the Devices tab and search for the sign.
- Open the Programs tab. The first time, add your display, then tap New program.
- Add an image, video, text or clock area, and resize and move the areas. Add your background first.
- Tap Send. Keep the app open and stay on the sign’s Wi-Fi until it finishes.
To loop several programs, tick them and send them together. In each program’s settings you can set the dates, times and days it plays, and you can set an on time and an off time for the screen.
Brightness and time
You can set one brightness level, or set levels for different times, such as dimmer at night. The automatic setting only works if your sign has a light sensor. You can also copy your phone’s date and time to the sign, so clocks and schedules are right.
LED-Cloud: update the sign from anywhere
LED-Cloud is Huidu’s website for updating HD signs over the internet. Use Chrome or Edge at www.led-cloud.com. The first time, the login page opens in Chinese, with 小灰云 under the cloud logo. Click language: 简体中文 at the top right and choose English. Your browser remembers this. Log in with your user name, mobile number or email and your password, and log in at least once every six months, or LED-Cloud may clear an unused account.
Send a program
- In the Device List, check your sign is online (the icon is green) and note its resolution.
- Open Source, choose Image or Video and upload your files. Images can be up to 20 MB and videos up to 4 GB, and new accounts come with 5 GB of storage. New files are approved and converted before you can use them.
- Open Program, choose your sign type (for example Full color) and click New Program. Name it, set its size with Select Device, then add image, video and text areas. Edit Text sets the colour and font size.
- Save the program.
- Tick it, click Send, tick your sign and choose the update mode, then Send.
Additional Update, the default, adds this program to what is already on the sign. Complete Update replaces everything on the sign with this list. If the sign is offline, the send waits until it is back, and the Log menu shows each send’s status.
Schedule and brightness
Tick Playing time period to set start and end times, such as 09:00 to 18:00, and tick Playing week (all seven days are ticked for you, so untick the days it shouldn’t play). To play only between two dates, tick Playing Date and check the end date, as both start as today. For brightness, open Device, then Details, More and Brightness Setting. Choose Default for one fixed level, or Customize to set levels by time. The Automatically option needs a light sensor.
Quick fixes
- LedArt can’t find the sign: check you are on the sign’s Wi-Fi, local network permission is on, and you are close enough.
- Content looks squashed: check the display size matches the sign.
- Video trouble: use an MP4 video (H.264) made at your sign’s size. How many videos can play at once depends on the player inside your sign: some play only one video area and some can’t play 4K.
- LED-Cloud icon not green: the sign is offline.
- Old content keeps playing: send again with Complete Update.
- The sign didn’t change: save the program, then check the Log.
Any option that clears or empties programs wipes the content from your sign. Leave the Wi-Fi, hardware and other settings to us.
