For Adelaide businesses, clubs and councils, we make LED and digital signs: pylon signs, entry statements, community notice boards and full colour screens. We hire out signs as well. Our workshop in Welshpool, Perth, builds and tests every one, and our own team installs the permanent signs in Adelaide. We have been making signs since 2002, first as Running Signs and, since 2019, as iCatcher.
Adelaide summers can bring runs of days over 40 degrees, and a sign in full sun gets hotter than the air around it. Heat is hard on outdoor electronics. Our FA2 outdoor range has no fans, and it keeps working without air conditioning in temperatures up to 55 degrees. That means no fans to clog with dust or wear out, and no air conditioner on the back of the sign to run or repair.
It is also sealed to IP68, which keeps out heavy rain and the dust that comes in on a hot north wind. The screen reaches up to 10,000 nits, so the message holds up in the middle of the day.
LED signs for councils and community notice boards
Council messages change all the time: road closures, a council meeting, fire ban days, a change to bin collection, an event at the oval. An LED community notice board carries all of it, and staff update it from a phone or online instead of sending someone out to swap a printed panel.
At the edge of town, an entry statement does the same job with a welcome. We built a full colour LED entry statement sign for the Shire of Wagin in WA.
Single colour boards are enough for dates, times and notices. Full colour brings in photos and logos for events. For short jobs, councils also hire signs for road closures, detours and community events. There is more on our council and shire signs page.
Business signs
Adelaide pylon signs, wall signs and double-sided signs
Every piece of LED signage we make is drawn up for its site. For a business, the main choices are:
Pylon signs for sites set back from the road, with the LED screen up high where drivers can see it over parked cars
Building and wall signs for shops that sit right on the street
Double-sided signs for main roads, so traffic in both directions gets a face to read
Single colour signs keep the cost down and suit text and numbers. Full colour is for pictures: logos, photos, video. Custom LED signs in Adelaide are made to the size the site needs, so try your message at different sizes in the pixel pitch planner, or read pixel pitch explained for the basics.
Signs and screens for Adelaide clubs
Footy, cricket, bowls and social clubs have something new to say every week: fixtures, presentation nights, meal nights, sponsors, a welcome to new members. An LED sign at the gate or on the clubrooms puts it in front of everyone driving past. Inside, a full colour display in the bar or function room can run sponsor messages and coming events.
Full colour LED screens can be bright enough for the street or fine enough for a foyer. Four ways to use them:
Video walls: panels joined into one big picture, for a foyer, a council chamber or a function room. The photo shows a pair we built for a Tasmanian Government office.
Indoor displays and poster screens: receptions, libraries and shopping centres.
Digital billboards: for landowners and businesses that sell advertising space, with each advertiser’s content in a loop. See LED billboards.
Digital menu boards: cafes and club bistros.
Content is set from a phone, a computer or a web browser, and it can change on a timetable through the day. Depending on the controller, your sign uses ViPlex Express or VNNOX (NovaStar), or LedArt or LED-Cloud (HD). You will find each one on our Downloads page, and our digital signage page has more.
Fetes, festivals, openings and roadworks all suit a hire sign. Signage hire works the same way in Adelaide as anywhere else in Australia: we send the sign, and you update the wording from your phone.
Solar trailer signs run on sunlight, so they suit a verge or a car park with no power nearby.
For VMS hire in Adelaide, ask for a solar trailer set up as a variable message sign. It shows speed limits, detours and warnings at roadworks.
Full colour trailer signs are for when an opening or event needs pictures as well as words.
Double-sided signs have a face for each direction of traffic.
Portable signs can be moved by hand to a school gate or a club entrance.
A longer hire also lets you try a sign before you buy one.
In South Australia, signs are assessed under the Planning and Design Code, so a fixed digital sign usually needs development approval through PlanSA. Applications go in online through the PlanSA portal. We help with the PlanSA application too, and it adds nothing to the price, just as in WA.

LED scoreboards for Adelaide footy and cricket clubs
Ovals need scoreboards too, and we build them portable or built in. One example is the 4 x 5 m full colour LED screen at Calingiri Sporting Club in WA, which runs Olympyx for live scores, sponsors, video and movie nights. Read the Calingiri story, or go to scoreboards in Adelaide.
