Sydney and NSW

LED signs in Sydney

We build custom LED signs for Sydney businesses at our workshop in Welshpool, Perth, and our own team travels over to install them. That covers pylon signs for main roads, LED signage for shopfronts and shopping strips, full colour screens and digital menu boards. If you only need a sign for a while, we send hire signs to Sydney too.

Pylon signs and shopfront signs for Sydney roads

Sydney traffic gives a sign a few seconds. A driver on Parramatta Road or the Pacific Highway might take in one line. Someone walking a shopping strip in the Inner West has longer, but every shop on the strip is asking for a look. So we size each sign for the distance it will be read from and the speed people pass it.

Pylon signs

A pylon sign stands on its own, beside the road or at the entry to your car park, with an LED screen on one face or both. Outdoor pylon signs suit businesses set back from the kerb, such as car yards, medical centres and service stations, where a sign on the building would sit too far from the traffic.

Shopfront and building signs

Where there is no room for a pylon, the sign goes on the building: the fascia, a side wall or above the door. Screens made for close viewing, such as a shopfront ad, keep fine detail and stay clear in direct sun (our OA2 series).

Double-sided signs

Two faces, so drivers coming from either direction get their own view of the message. They work well on two-way roads and corner blocks.

Single colour or full colour

Single colour signs show red text and numbers, which is plenty for opening hours, a phone number or a line about new stock. Full colour signs add your logo, photos and video. Our guide to single colour or full colour LED signs sets out the difference.

Made for the coast

Built for salt air and humid summers

A lot of Sydney sits close to the water, and salt air and humid summers are hard on electronics that live outside. The cabinet matters as much as the lights inside it. For business signs and billboards, our FA2 outdoor range is sealed to IP68 against dust and heavy rain. It is fanless, so there are no fans drawing outside air through it, and it runs without air conditioning up to 55 degrees. It also reaches up to 10,000 nits, which keeps the message readable on a clear Sydney afternoon.

Digital menu boards and LED screens in Sydney

Our digital signage is built on full colour LED screens that show photos, video and messages that change through the day. In a cafe or restaurant, a digital menu board can move from breakfast to lunch to dinner on a schedule, so nobody is up a ladder with chalk at eleven o’clock. There is more on this in our post on digital menu boards.

Other places an LED screen or LED display earns its keep:

  • A shop window, showing new stock and opening hours to people on the footpath
  • A counter or reception desk, with news and welcome messages
  • A showroom or office wall, with a video wall built from panels that join into one picture
  • A shopping centre or shopfront, with slim indoor or outdoor poster screens
  • Your own land beside a busy road, with a digital billboard that runs more than one advertiser in a loop

Our outdoor screens are weatherproof and bright enough for full sun, which is what outdoor digital signage needs on a Sydney street.

Changing what is on screen

Our digital signs run from a phone, a computer or an online account, and you can schedule content by time of day. We set up the software when we install the screen and show you how it works. The apps are on our Downloads page, step by step guides are on Brochures and guides, and the digital signage page covers the rest.

Solar-powered LED trailer sign for hire

Sign hire

LED sign hire in Sydney

Hiring makes sense for an opening, a festival or a stretch of roadworks. We send hire signs to Sydney and anywhere else in Australia, for short jobs and long ones.

  • Solar trailer signs need no mains power, so they can stand on a verge or in a car park. They also work as variable message signs (VMS) on roadworks, with speed, detour and warning messages.
  • Double-sided signs put the message in front of traffic going both ways.
  • Full colour trailer signs show photos, logos and video at openings and events.
  • Portable signs are moved by hand, for a shopfront, a foyer or an event entry.

You change the message from your phone, and we give you a quick lesson on how. For roadworks and detours, our page on VMS board hire covers VMS hire in Sydney in more detail.

Five steps from first photo to switch-on

Your sign is built on the other side of the country, but the steps are simple:

  1. 01

    Send photos

Send us photos of the site, rough measurements and what the sign needs to show.

  2. 02

    Get a drawing

We draw the sign and send the drawing with a free quote.

  3. 03

    We build it

We build it at our Welshpool workshop and test it there before it leaves Perth.

  4. 04

    We install it

Our own team travels to Sydney and installs it.

  5. 05

    We show you how

Before we leave, we show you how to change the message.

The steps are the same for LED signs in Newcastle, digital signage in Wollongong or a site anywhere else in NSW. Warranties run from 1 to 5 years, depending on the product.

Electronic scoreboards in Sydney

We also build LED scoreboards, portable or built in, for rugby league, cricket, netball and most other sports. Our own team installs those in Sydney as well. The details are on our Sydney scoreboards page.
